Spotlight
Diana Robichaud, RPR
RECRUITMENT SPECIALIST WITH A FOCUS ON THE FUTURE

Diana Robichaud has focused her career on the discipline of Recruitment and Selection throughout her years as a Human Resources Professional.

Diana Robichaud
RPR
Diana's current employer York Regional Police, where she deals with the recruitment of civilians, covers nine area municipalities stretching from Steeles Avenue in the south to Lake Simcoe in the north. York Region is now home to more than 900,000 residents and 25,000 businesses and is expected to reach 1.28 million by 2026. To keep up with the increase in population, they're constantly recruiting for both uniform police officers and civilians. Civilian members play an important role in the service. They currently have approximately 300 civilian members that support the officers in various capacities, and that number increases every year.

Diana's main responsibilities involve writing job descriptions, departmental procedures and job postings. Diana develops advertisements for current positions; writes the content for both the Intranet and Internet website and the marketing material for job fairs and the job hotline. Once the interview process is complete, Diana completes security clearances, reference checks and writes the recommendation letter for the Police Services Board. Her other duties include the upkeep of personnel files, security clearances for both employees and contractors and representing the service at area job fairs.

Diana's first job was developing and delivering training programs for Microsoft products, administrative assistants, and job search workshops. Next she joined RWH International where she was able to use her marketing abilities. This position entailed assisting people who were trying to immigrate to North America to find employment in their related field.

Diana has completed a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Brock University with a concentration in HR and Marketing. In addition to her RPR, Diana holds the title of Regional Director for the Toronto chapter of IPM Associations. She would also like to complete the Professional Trainer Accreditation program and is currently enrolled in courses with Georgian College to help prepare her for the CHRP national examination.

Outside of work, Diana is trying to improve her jogging so that she can run a half marathon with her husband this year in the Toronto International Marathon. Diana has also been tutoring high school math for the past 6 months which has kept her challenged mentally, and works part time for My Parent's Newspaper doing the monthly bookkeeping and occasionally writing articles or taking pictures.
