Mary-Ann McCann, RPR, CMP
A PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE
Mary-Ann McCann is the Office Services Supervisor for Univar Canada Ltd., a position she has held since August 2001. Mary-Ann entered the Human Resources field in 1994, having gained the aptitude and knowledge she needed at Grant MacEwan Community College in Edmonton. She now holds both her CMP and RPR designations.

Univar Canada Ltd is an international chemical distribution company and a leader in the field, providing more chemicals and related chemical distribution services than any other company in the marketplace. Univar seeks to unite economic success with social and environmental responsibility with their products and distribution.
Mary-Ann is responsible for the Human Resource needs for the Edmonton, Grande Prairie, and Fort St. John offices. As an integral part of the Univar team, Mary-Ann supervises all of the internal functions of the Northern Alberta location. She is also responsible for overseeing offices services staff and acts as confidential assistant to the General Manager. In addition, she collaborates to ensure all the recruitment, benefits, and training for the employees in this area.
Mary-Ann is one of the founding members of the Edmonton Chapter of IPM. Committed to excellence in every endeavor, she is a dedicated, hardworking, and passionate leader with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. The driving force behind her desire to work in a Human Resource environment is her zest for challenges and goal setting. She has been a motivating and progressive manager in every team to which she belongs. Mary-Ann’s independent and self-motivated approach enables her to prioritize and multi-task to achieve project goals. Mary-Ann is very organized and detailed in her professional approach to compilation and presentation of all projects.
Recently, Mary-Ann has joined in a partnership in a new company called Municipal Solutions with her husband Bret. Her future plans include the development of policies and procedures for the organization and she hopes to lead Municipal Solutions to great success. Mary-Ann enjoys promoting the new company in trade shows across North America and is keen to travel internationally the next couple years at trade shows as well.
In her free time, Mary-Ann volunteers for National Breast Awareness campaign and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary this past May. Mary-Ann and Bret enjoy camping in the summer and curling in the winter. She plays in a mixed league and also on a women’s team, which won the club championship last season. She also enjoys traveling overseas to visit her children.
Margaret Easton, CMP
COMMITTED TO LIFE-LONG LEARNING
Margaret Easton has over twenty-five years of experience in the financial services industry in both Alberta and British Columbia. Her professional experience includes branch operations, business banking, human resources, training and development, and retail sales in banking, trust companies, and credit unions. Committed to life-long learning and education, Margaret has also obtained a B.A. in General Studies from Athabasca University, a Baccalaureate in Women’s Studies and a Masters of Liberal Studies from Simon Fraser University and her B.C. Instructor’s Certificate from Vancouver Community College. In addition, Margaret has completed the first year of a three year diploma program in Sales and Marketing Management at UBC’s Sauder School of Business in 2006, and earned the James B. Warren Award for Top Academic Student, Year One. Margaret’s financial services accreditations include her Mutual Funds License, Canadian Securities Course and her Elder Planning Counselor designation. As a member of IPM, Margaret also has her Canadian Management Professional (CMP) designation.

She has worked fro Westminster Savings Credit Union (WSCU) in Greater Vancouver for the last six years. Westminster Savings celebrated their 60th anniversary last year, and throughout these past sixty years WSCU has maintained its commitment to the communities which it serves through donations and sponsorships. Westminster Savings is the tenth largest credit union in Canada, has over $1.2 Billion in assets, 51,000 members and 10 retail branches throughout the Lower Mainland. Westminster Savings also opened a Member Services Center in 2005 and operates two subsidiaries, WS Leasing Ltd. and Westminster Savings Financial Planning Ltd.
Margaret was appointed to the position of Branch Manager, New Westminster branch in 2004, after managing the Austin branch for four and a half years. In her new role Margaret is responsible for retail sales and services for banking services, lending, and wealth management, providing leadership to a branch serving a fast growing community of local businesses, organizations and residents.
She is actively involved in a number of professional development and volunteer activities. In addition to her membership in CMPA, Margaret also serves as the Vocational Chair for the Coquitlam Rotary Club, is on the board of the Downtown Business Development Association for the city of New Westminster, and is the Editor for the Hastings Bridge, the Graduate Liberal Studies Journal at Simon Fraser University.
Margaret’s future plans include completion of the Sales and Marketing program at UBC and more training in Desktop Publishing. When not working, Margaret enjoys spending time with her husband Greig, daughter Sarah, four step-children, nine step-grandchildren, five brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews. In addition, she enjoys shopping, gardening, reading and movies.
