Here’s to 2012: Meet the Needs of Your Customers
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO READ ABOUT IN THE MEMBERS QUARTERLY?
As we know, customer feedback is key to the success of any organization. Each one of us has customers in one form or another. We must get to know them, identify their needs, aim to provide them with what they want and pay very close attention to their feedback. We at IPM have been most fortunate to get some excellent feedback on our IPM Associations Members Quarterly Newsletter.

We pride ourselves in listening to your suggestions and responding to your needs. Our Quarterly Newsletters are attracting more readers with each issue. Though we know that the newsletter is well received, our work doesn’t stop there. We need to hear from you. Tell us what you like, but more importantly, provide suggestions for topics that you would like to see included in the future. We do listen and will do our best to make it happen.
Over the past year, we’ve received dozens of emails expressing how much our members enjoy the publication and share it with their colleagues and associates.
One thing our readers appreciate is sharing of information that is being delivered in our professional development events across the country. With over 2,400 members in the four associations coast to coast, we realize that you can’t necessarily travel to a centre that has a speaker of interest to you, though some members do make the journey, even across the country. We will definitely continue this as it provides you with useful strategies and plans which you can immediately share with your work teams and implement.
We need to hear from you pertaining to topics of interest. Some years ago, we introduced forensic investigations and corporate financial management topics which none of the other HR/Management industry publications were doing at the time. Though we did hear back from a few people who said it wasn’t all that relevant to their jobs, these topics have evolved into extremely relevant and serious issues to senior HR and management professionals. Nowadays, you can see much more material on those issues in all industry publications. Situations such as mergers, acquisitions and downsizing may not have been that prevalent decades ago have subsequently changed. It is safe to say that most of us will be affected by at least one of these scenarios in our professional careers. Always keep in mind that though something may not affect you in your position today, you may need to be aware of it down the road. These areas as well as the legal case reviews will continue in future issues.
For 2012, we plan to broaden our horizons even more. For example, workplace health and wellness are becoming extremely important. We plan to have a regular wellness column. We also have been asked to provide experts’ advice on the basics on communication, presentations, leadership and other day-to-day management topics. You’ll be seeing more material on those as well.
We tremendously appreciate your support and feedback. We’re counting on it to deliver more of what you want to hear about. We encourage you to keep in touch with us.
As Oprah Winfrey says, “Cheers to a new year and another chance to get it right!”
